Industrial relations & social dialogueThe World Employment Confederation is committed to have meaningful and constructive relations with trade unions. As the employer of agency workers, the employment industry is in a position to negotiate with representatives from the workers on employment and working conditions. Around the world, a large number of collective labour agreements has been concluded in order to advance the rights of workers. Outcomes of sectoral social dialogue include the establishment of bipartite training funds, bipartite social funds, bipartite health and safety funds, bipartite pension funds as well as bipartite compliance funds. Being actively engaged in social dialogue is important on a company and a sector level, but also on a regional and global scale. The World Employment Confederation has regular contacts with UNI Global Union, as well as with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC). From the employers' side, the World Employment Confederation has a close working relationship with the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), and with the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC), where it is associate member. At the ILO level, the World Employment Confederation regularly takes part in tripartite meetings of experts and the International Labour Conference, either directly or through the IOE. At the European level, the World Employment Confederation is part of the EU Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee on temporary agency work, together with UNI Europa, where it carries out various activities, including joint projects and research, meetings, capacity building workshops, etc. For more information, please visit the European page. |
